સીતાની અગ્નિપરીક્ષા
ક્યાં સુધી ધવલશીલા જાનકીની
અગ્નિપરીક્ષા થતી રહેશે આમ?
હૈયાનું હીર નીચોવી નીચોવીને
જુવાન બનાવી લવ-કુશની જોડી
અંતે જીવન-કર્તવ્ય પૂરું થયું માની
મા-ધરતીમાં સમાઈ ગયાં સીતાજી.
લાચારી હતી શું એ એની?
ના,- ના,
એ તો હતો ત્યારની સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટે
આપેલા ચુકાદા જેવો
એક જોરદાર તમાચો,
રાજા રામના ગાલ ઉપર!
અને અલોપ થતાં થતાં
ચિત્કાર કરી ઊઠ્યાં હશે
ભરી સભામાં જાનકી.
પલકવારમાં માને ખોળે
સમાઈ જાઉં હું
ને તમે જોતા જ રહી જશો
જોતા જ રહી જશો
હે રાજન!
તું કોઈ, અમેરિકન પત્નીની જેમ મને છોડીને, ચાલી તો ન ગઈ.
તેં મને અનેક માણસોની વચ્ચે, વકીલોને સહારે
કોર્ટમાં, બદનામ પણ ન કર્યો.
ન તો ક્યારે, આક્રોશ ર્ક્યો, ન ફરિયાદ કરી.
માત્ર એક દિવસ, વાતવાતમાં, તું આટલું જ બોલી ગઈ.
આવતે ભવે પતિ તરીકે તમે તો નહીં જ !

I did not like the poetry on Sita at all.I believe whatever happened at that time was fitting for that era.To pick the particular incident of the past and try to fit in to current way of thinking is not appropriate at all.By writing the poetry like this and including feminist remark is not at all dignified. Feminism is a chewed up topic and outdated. Please write something positive about Sita and Ram. One does not have to be religious.

Nice and also strange comment! Daring too! Keep it up! by the way Vrinda, you are a female, right? it is really a very clear expression of thought and away from routine. I can find one word in Gujarati for the same and it is Nikhalas!Would like to know your more thoughts.
